“Lord of the Couch” Smooth 1:6 Scale • Joy Beckner

“Lord of the Couch” Smooth was inspired by Jan Oswald, who commissioned me to sculpt a smooth version of “Lord of the Couch” MW. Judge Weldon Long, my departed dachshund anatomy mentor, commented on what great feet “Lord” has. Weldon exclaimed, “I could take that dog into a [show] ring and get a 5-point major on him today! Of course, we’ll never know how he moves.” I miss Weldon, who passed away in September 2007.

When our departed smooth boy Edgar acted as if he owned our couch, the original wire version became “Lord of the Couch” Smooth.

Each “Lord of the Couch” Smooth is made by hand, one at a time in the USA.
